Bist du mutig? Bist du bereit, über das Thema “Armut in Deutschland – Armut in Bayreuth” nicht nur theoretisch zu diskutieren, sondern auch dorthin zu gehen, wo sie sich zeigt? Dorthin, wo bedürftige Menschen mit Lebensmitteln versorgt werden – Lebensmittel, die in unserer Überflussgesellschaft ansonsten aussortiert und weggeworfen würden?
Dann komm am Dienstag, 19. Juni, um 15.30 Uhr (Treffpunkt: Tafel Bayreuth e.V. Justus-Liebig-Str. 3) mit uns zum Laden der Tafel Bayreuth. Wir werden dort von den Tafelmitarbeiter(innen) im Rahmen einer kleinen Führung einen Einblick in ihre Arbeit erhalten und mit den ehrenamtlichen Helfer(innen) ins Gespräch kommen.
Die Veranstaltung ist Teil der deutschlandweiten Aktionswoche “Weihnachten ist alle Tage”, die von der Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Kath. Hochschulgemeinden und den Studierenden des Cusanuswerks organisiert wird. Die Aktion soll daran erinnern, dass wir nicht nur zur Weihnachtszeit auf die Bedürfnisse unserer Mitmenschen achten sollten.

Are you brave? Are you ready to not merely discuss the topic “poverty in Germany – poverty in Bayreuth” academically, but also to go where poverty shows itself? Where people in need are supplied with food – food which otherwise would be sorted out and thrown away in our affluent society?
Then come with us on Tuesday, June 19th, at 3.30 pm (Meeting point Tafel Bayreuth e.V. Justus-Liebig-Str. 3) to the store of the “Tafel Bayreuth” (Bayreuth foodbank). We’ll have a little guided tour by the “Tafel” volunteers, who’ll give us some insight into their work and the opportunity to come into conversation with them.
The event is part of the all-German awareness week “It’s Christmas every day”, which is organised by the AKH (network of Catholic campus communities) and students of the “Cusanuswerk” (Catholic scholarship organisation). The awareness week should remind us to pay heed to our fellow humans’ needs, not only during Christmas time.
